What is Disease X?

To clearly understand the concept of Disease X, we need to go back to the first three months of COVID-19 pandemic. A virus that was detected in China and soon spread like wildfire across the globe in a short time. Initially, a lot of health practitioners perceived it as any other flu with cold, cough, and fever being its common symptoms but little did they know how it would create havoc in people’s life. Four years forward, many people are still in the process of overcoming the losses whether financial or the loss of their loved ones. If the nations are still dealing with the aftermath of COVID-19, why should we worry about a hypothetical pathogen? Well, there are several reasons for people to prepare themselves for the impending health crisis. As per the World Health Organization (WHO), Disease X could be any of the 25 families of viruses that can cause illness in people. Interestingly, scientists are predicting that Disease X could be 20 times more fatal than now familiar COVID-19. WHO acknowledges that it is important to carry out research and prepare the nation’s health infrastructure to prevent millions of deaths globally. Notably, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has cautioned the nations to stay prepared for unknown health threats.

“There are things that are unknown that may happen, and anything happening is a matter of when, not if, so we need to have a placeholder for that, for the diseases we don’t know,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.

It is also feared that Disease X could have a similar impact as the devastating Spanish Flu of 1918-1920. It is estimated that Disease X could potentially result in up to 50 million fatalities. It is worth mentioning that a WHO tool determines which diseases pose the greatest public health risk due to their epidemic potential and/or the absence of insufficient countermeasures. The diseases that are presently under the lens include COVID-19, and Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. Ebola and Marburg virus diseases, Lassa fever, MERS-CoV and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), Nipah and Henipaviral Diseases Rift Valley Fever, Zika, and Disease X. These diseases most likely can be the cause of the next epidemic. Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) was established in 2017 and classified Disease X as a serious risk to global health security, for which the world needed to prepare. This was two years before humanity faced life-threatening COVID-19.

Prevention from Disease X with Ozone Therapy :

Disease X is such a hidden and inevitable creeping danger that one must be prepared for and what might be the best solution than making one’s own body stronger by boosting one’s immunity?  Ozone Therapy has been proven to be an extremely effective and safe alternative to treat various fatal health conditions. Various studies have indicated that Ozone therapy stimulates the production of white blood cells which are critical for fighting off infections and diseases. Altogether, the therapy helps in increasing the body’s ability to defend against pathogens. In addition to this, the antioxidant properties of Ozone boost the production of antioxidants in the body and also remove the free radicals that damage cells and contribute to aging and disease. By reducing oxidative stress, Ozone therapy may help support immune function.

Furthermore, Ozone therapy improves blood circulation by enhancing the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues throughout the body. Better circulation can support the immune system by ensuring that immune cells reach their target locations efficiently.
